Volitional forms carry two main functions: expressing intentions and making invitations in informal speech. In other words, volitional form is a short form of ”〜ましょう.” Volitional form itself does not conjugate and does not become negative.
1. ピクニックに行こう!Let's go for a picnic!
2. 明日レストランで食べようと思います。あしたレストランでたべようとおもいます。
I am thinkig of eating at a restaurant tomorrow.
